Our History

In the early 1960s the Cassino Gallery Site hosted the largest open air Skating Rink outside Sydney. The Skating Rink became the Rink Theatre, still open air and complete with canvas seats.

In the early 1960s the building was replaced with a new RTA building which was acquired from the NSW Government by The Richmond Valley Council in 2019 to be used as a community Art Gallery. The building was converted into the Cassino Gallery in 2019,

Hand Over

In 2019 Councillor Robert Mustow Mayor of the Richmond Valley Council paid State Government Member for Clarence Mr Chris Gulaptis ($1) One Dollar for the purchase of this building 148 Barker Street. The goal to create an Art Gallery for the Casino Community to be operated by the Casino Art Group Inc.
